An update to TeamSpec has been released. The major changes include:
New
- Pick a class before you spawn. Joining a server with no class selected now opens your class list instead of spawning you empty-handed. While you choose, you watch your teammates, and a notice tells you how to open your classes. If you already have a class selected, you spawn with it straight away, and your class carries over map changes.
- Settings wizard. On a fresh install, TeamSpec now checks your PC (graphics card, processor, memory and screen), runs a short benchmark, and suggests settings that keep the game at your screen's refresh rate. Every suggestion is shown as its own card: change it, keep your current value, or discard them all. You can run it again any time with Detect Best Settings in the Settings window. It never turns on anti-aliasing, and it only lowers render scale as a last resort.
- New graphics settings for slower PCs: Render Scale (with FSR upscaling), Shadow Detail, Model Detail and Shader Detail. Shader Detail swaps the water, terrain, foliage and bullet hole shaders for cheaper versions.
- True exclusive fullscreen. Exclusive Fullscreen is back, and it can now run your screen at a different resolution, refresh rate and aspect ratio, with Stretch or your graphics driver's own scaling. Pick an aspect ratio first and the resolution list only shows sizes that fit it. Your desktop's resolution comes back when you tab out or quit.
- Gamemode introductions. The first time you join a Payload, Service, Soul Banking or Training map, a short card explains how the mode works. These hints can be turned off or reset in Settings, under General.
Changed
- Balance pass. Item costs, several weapons and all class presets have changed. See Balance below.
- Classes that no longer fit. If a saved class can no longer be played because an item's cost changed, picking it now tells you so instead of spawning you with nothing. Edit the class to move its points or swap an item.
- The spec triangle now circles the one point that is left when your items only allow a single allocation.
- The game now fills any screen shape. On 4:3, 5:4, 16:10 and ultrawide resolutions, the game used to show black bars to keep a 16:9 picture. It now fills the screen.
- Bots. Bots look around, move and build more like players, a team is mostly made up of fighters, and bots think more efficiently on servers with many of them.
Fixed
- Fixed a bug where a refused class left you with 100 health instead of the normal 150.
- Fixed the Revolving Shotgun's crosshair not opening up for the double barrel blast with Show Accuracy on.
- Fixed a fresh install never receiving your settings from Steam Cloud.
- Fixed a way for a modified client to revive itself or leave spectator mode without respawning.

Class presets
The preset classes have been rebuilt around the new costs:
- Scout: Pistol instead of the SMG.
- Rocketeer: Cast Iron Pan instead of the Basher Tentacle.
- Gunner: Cast Iron Pan instead of the Basher Tentacle.
- Tank: Broadsword, and no secondary weapon.
- Medic: 2 / 1 / 7 (was 2 / 2 / 6).
- Engineer: 1 / 3 / 6 (was 0 / 4 / 6).
- Cultist: Zappinator and Rocket Pads, at 4 / 4 / 2.

Presets you already loaded are your own classes and are not changed. Use Load preset loadouts in My Classes to add the new versions.
Level Editor
- No-walk surfaces. Mark brush faces or paint terrain as not walkable. Standing on one counts as too steep to stand on, and bots never path onto it.
Demo
- A welcome card on first launch explains how to get started, the controls, and what is different in the demo.
- The cosmetic slots now explain that cosmetics are not in the demo, since Steam Inventory does not work in demo games.
- Quitting the demo asks for feedback, with a link to a short form.
