TeamSpecWishlist on Steam

Privacy policy

How TeamSpec, this website, the TeamSpec wiki and the TeamSpec Discord application handle your data. Last updated 22 October 2026.

“TeamSpec”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Gameprog, the developer and operator of the TeamSpec game, this website, the TeamSpec wiki and the TeamSpec Discord application (together, the “Services”). By using the Services you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use them.

Data we collect

Account and identity data

  • Your Steam ID, Steam display name and avatar, which Steam provides when you play the game.
  • If you link or use Discord features: your Discord user ID, username, display name, avatar and the servers and roles needed to provide the feature you asked for.
  • If you create a wiki account: your username, email address and password hash.

Gameplay data

When you play, our servers may record what players do. This may include, per player: kills, deaths, assists, damage dealt and taken, objectives and match results, items and classes used, chat and voice-chat events (such as who was muted or reported), moderation actions such as kicks and bans, purchases, trades, inventory and progression, settings that affect gameplay, and the time, map, server and duration of each session. Matches may be recorded as replays, which contain the positions and actions of everyone in the match.

Communications

  • Text chat messages you send in game on servers we operate may be stored.
  • Voice chat is relayed between players while you talk and is not recorded by us. Other players may record it, for example in videos, streams or other content, and we do not control that.
  • Messages you send us, and reports you file about other players.
  • Content you submit to us, such as assets, feedback and bug reports.

Technical data

  • IP address, approximate location derived from it, game version and build, operating system, hardware and graphics information, network quality, and crash and error reports.
  • Website logs: pages requested, date and time, referring page and browser information.

How we use data

  • To run the game: matchmaking, servers, progression, trading, parties, replays and leaderboards.
  • To provide Discord features, such as showing your activity, linking your account or announcing events.
  • To detect and prevent cheating, abuse, fraud and other violations of our terms, and to enforce bans.
  • To fix bugs, measure performance and balance and improve the game.
  • To answer your messages and provide support.
  • To comply with the law and protect our rights, our players and others.

Legal bases (EU and UK users)

If the GDPR or UK GDPR applies to you, we process your data because it is necessary to provide the game and Services you asked for (contract); because we have a legitimate interest in running, securing, balancing and improving them and in preventing cheating and abuse; because the law requires it (legal obligation); or because you gave your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Discord

Our Discord application only requests the permissions it needs for the features you use. We use the data Discord provides only to operate those features, and we do not sell it. Discord’s own handling of your data is covered by the Discord Privacy Policy. You can revoke the application’s access at any time in Discord under User Settings, Authorized Apps, or by removing the application from your server.

Steam and other services

The game is distributed and authenticated through Steam. Steam’s handling of your data is covered by the Steam Privacy Policy. Our website may embed content from services such as YouTube, Steam and Discord; those services may collect data about you according to their own policies when you view the embedded content.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only:

  • Publicly, by design. Your display name, avatar, rank, stats, match history and anything you post in public places such as the wiki, leaderboards, game servers and replays can be seen by other players and the public.
  • With providers that host, secure and operate the Services for us (for example hosting, content delivery, database, email and analytics providers), who may only use it to work for us.
  • With platforms such as Steam and Discord, as needed for the features you use.
  • For legal reasons, if we believe disclosure is required by law, legal process or a government request, or is needed to protect rights, safety or property, or to investigate abuse or cheating.
  • In a business transfer, such as a merger, acquisition or sale of the game, where the data would continue to be covered by a policy at least as protective as this one.

Retention

We keep data for as long as it is needed for the purposes above, for example for as long as your account exists, and as long as needed to enforce bans, resolve disputes and meet legal obligations. Replays, logs and backups may be kept for a limited period after you ask us to delete data. Aggregated or anonymized data that no longer identifies you may be kept indefinitely.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to object to or restrict certain uses, and to withdraw consent. To make a request, email [email protected]. We aim to respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity first. We will delete or de-identify the personal data we hold about you unless we need to keep it to run the game, prevent cheating and abuse, resolve disputes or comply with the law. Because most of what we hold is gameplay records tied to your Steam ID, there is usually little to delete. If you believe we have mishandled your data, you may also complain to your local data protection authority.

Residents of California and some other U.S. states have additional rights under state privacy laws. We do not sell personal data or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

Children

The Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, if higher, which can be up to 16), and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of data sent to or stored by the Services.

International transfers

We and our providers may process your data in countries other than your own, including the United States, which may have different data protection laws. By using the Services you understand your data may be transferred and processed there.

Cookies

This website uses only the cookies and similar storage that are necessary for it to work. Embedded content from third parties may set its own.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed. Continuing to use the Services after a change means you accept the updated policy.
