Terms of service and EULA

The terms and end user license agreement for using TeamSpec, this website, the TeamSpec wiki and the TeamSpec Discord application. Last updated 22 October 2026.

These terms, which also serve as the end user license agreement (EULA) for the game, are an agreement between you and Gameprog (“TeamSpec”, “we”, “us”). They cover the TeamSpec game, this website, the TeamSpec wiki and the TeamSpec Discord application (together, the “Services”). By using any of them you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

Eligibility

You may use the Services only if you meet the age requirements of Steam and Discord, which we rely on to provide them, and you follow their terms. You are not a child under 13 (or the minimum age in your country, if higher). By using the Services you confirm this. You are responsible for everything done through your account and device.

Early access

TeamSpec is in development. The game and the other Services may be incomplete, change or break, lose data, reset progress, or be taken offline at any time without notice.

Early access builds are confidential. If you have a Steam key or access to a build, you agree not to distribute the executable or any of its assets to anyone but yourself, and you understand that violating this could lead to legal action. These terms are accepted automatically when you activate a Steam key.

Your account

You are responsible for your Steam and Discord accounts and for everything done through them. You may not sell, trade or share access to your account except through features the game provides. Tell us right away if you believe your account has been misused.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • cheat, use hacks, bots, scripts or exploits, or help others do so, or abuse bugs rather than report them;
  • reverse engineer, decompile, modify, copy or redistribute the game or its assets, except where the law lets you despite this restriction or where a feature (such as mods or workshop content) allows it;
  • harass, threaten, discriminate against, or impersonate others, or share hateful, sexual, illegal or otherwise harmful content in chat, voice, names, wiki pages or user content;
  • disrupt, overload or attempt to gain unauthorized access to our servers, accounts or networks, or probe them for weaknesses without our written permission;
  • scrape the Services, or collect other users’ data, by automated means without our permission;
  • sell items, accounts or in-game advantages for real money outside of features the game provides;
  • use the Services to break any law or the rights of others.

Moderation

We may warn, mute, kick, suspend or permanently ban any account, remove content, and reset or remove items or progress, at our discretion and without notice, if we believe these terms have been broken or to protect the Services or other players. Items, currency and progress in the game have no cash value and are not your property; they are a license to use features of the game.

Our content and your license

The Services, including the game, its code, art, audio, names, logos and the TeamSpec™ trademark, belong to Gameprog or our licensors and are protected by law. We give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the game for your own non-commercial entertainment, subject to these terms. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

Content you provide

Chat messages, names you choose, feedback, bug reports, suggestions and other incidental content you send through the Services belong to us. You assign us all rights in them, and where the law does not allow that, you give us the license below on an exclusive basis. You keep ownership of larger creative work you submit, such as maps, workshop items, art and other assets. For that work, and for everything else you submit, you give us a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, sublicensable license to use, host, store, reproduce, modify, display and distribute that content in and around the Services (including in replays, trailers and promotion) without owing you payment or credit. You confirm you have the right to give that license and that your content does not break the law or anyone else’s rights. We may keep and keep using your content after you stop using the Services or ask us to delete your account, and you cannot withdraw the license. Contributions by artists and other collaborators may also be covered by the contribution agreement. Wiki text is shared with the community as described on the wiki.

Recording

Matches can be recorded, and your gameplay, name, avatar and in-game actions may appear in replays, videos, streams and screenshots made by us or by other players. By playing, you accept this.

Third-party services

The Services depend on and link to services we do not control, including Steam, Discord, YouTube and others. We are not responsible for them, and your use of them is governed by their own terms.

Feedback

If you give us ideas or suggestions, we can use them freely and without compensation or credit to you.

Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTY THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS, OR THAT DATA WILL NOT BE LOST. YOU USE THE SERVICES AT YOUR OWN RISK. SOME PLACES DO NOT ALLOW THESE EXCLUSIONS, SO THEY MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, GAMEPROG AND ANYONE WHO WORKS WITH US WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL OR ITEMS, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICES, EVEN IF WE WERE TOLD THEY WERE POSSIBLE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE SERVICES WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR US$50.

Indemnity

You agree to defend and compensate us and our collaborators against claims, losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) that arise from your content, your breach of these terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of others.

Ending your use

You can stop using the Services at any time. We can suspend or end your access at any time, and we can end or change any part of the Services. Terms that by their nature should continue (such as ownership, licenses to your content, disclaimers, limits of liability and indemnity) survive.

Disputes and governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law rules. Disputes will be brought in the state and federal courts located in California, and you agree to their jurisdiction, except where the law of your country gives you the right to bring a claim where you live. Please contact us first so we can try to work it out informally. Any claim must be brought individually, not as part of a class or representative action, where the law allows.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the Services after a change means you accept the updated terms.

General

These terms and the documents they link to are the whole agreement between you and us about the Services. If a part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we do not enforce a term, we have not given it up. You may not transfer your rights under these terms; we may transfer ours.
